WEEK 62 IN TONGA, FALAHA

WE ON WHEELS AGAIN

Yep you read that right! We got a new car yesterday!! I'm so paranoid driving now though, Im scared to crash this new one.

We got it yesterday during Zone Conference... which was suchh a long but suchh a good meeting! We got picked up at around 8 and it ended around 6. HA! And there was only 5 different teaching! We did it together with Zone Hahake (East Zone) so about 40ish missionaries.

Other Zones teaching + Mine and Satus teaching + Sister APs + APs + President talking = very long meeting. Loved it! 😁  I really feel re-energized to go back into our area and work much harder and more efficiently. We did a whole lot of role plays which is what the zones needed! Lots of room to improve.

I'ma just send a quick email so here's the updates for the week:

Had a greeatt lesson with our Hou'eiki (Noble) (King of Tongas Grand-niece) investigator AKA we got a baptismal date! 😇😇 the only thing she told us is that she wants to see a baptism first.. soo we called in the big guns... haha. President Tui'one was at our Stake Conference last Sunday and we told him our situation, and he says, "Ok, Ill talk to Prince 'Ata." YUPP. We bringing the Kings son who is a very strong member in on the operation😎😎 Fingers crossed and praying big that all will go well!

Stake Conference was an awesome thing to be apart of! Me and Satu joined in on the choir haha, Im so bad at singing tbh

One of the members that got asked to share a short testimony at the Saturday evening session basically spent the whole time telling our investigator that was there to join the church and she needs to get baptized haha. Everyone was laughing the whole time. Tongas ways of missionary work always make me laugh, people are so straight forward sometimes.

Our house is currently full of:

1) Bed Bugs
2) Rats (Cheweys children and grandchildren)
3) Lizards

Sooo hopefully it gets sprayed for at least bed bugs soon haha. Tired of sleeping on the ground.

2 final things:

1) Corn is a definite NO GO in Tonga. So nasty

2) One of our less-active members told us about how in Tonga if you get pulled over, you just give the police $10 and they'll let you go haha. I thought he was kidding so I asked him if he's ever done that and he was like, "Yeah! I did last week!" smh Tongan Policeman

FAKAUHA (It rained)(Really Hard)

LAST ITEM OF BUSINESS:

HAPPY ANIVERSARY TO MY ONGO MATU'A (PARENTS) THIS UPCOMING WEEK! LOVE YOU GUYS SO MUCH!😘😘

WEEK 61 IN TONGA, FALAHA

BULAH!

I'm pretty sure that's how you say 'Hi' in Fijian, and the only reason I put that was because we met a way cool guy from The Solomon Islands which I know isn't even the same place but he looks kinda Fijian so.. you know!

Hello Fams and Friends! Sorry I missed the weekly last week! We had MLC which basically took up all of PDAY :( but it was fine because I loved the meeting and definitely got pumped up by President. Hes the man, and gots to be one of the most spiritual men Ive ever met, and continue to learn tons from him whenever we get to spend some time with him. He told us how our next Zone Conf will go: basically the ZLs will all give a teaching and then the rest of the time we will all role play. Pretty stoked for it!

Back to the Solomon Islands guy:

We were at a members house and I look out the window and notice a road we hadn't gone down yet, I mouth to him that we should go and walk down that road, he agreed so, we got up and left. Basically a whole lot of 'coincidences' happened for us to be on this road at the same time as this Solomon Island man who was outside playing soccer with his kids. We played kinda dumb and started a convo by asking if the gym was on this road (of course we already knew that because we work out all the time😏) Turns out hes the nicest man ever and is here to work as a doctor. Guy knows 5 languages and is Catholic but loves to hear what we share! We set an appointment for the next morning before District Meeting, shared a short message, gave a BOM and set a return appointment. It's really weird talking in English with other people but at the same time such a relief.

We met another really cool investigator! One of the Bishops we work with is SO hard core Missionary Work in his ward. Like he'll just pick us up off the road as we are walking on his way home from work and we will go visit people with him for the rest of the night. So he committed everyone at our Ward Council Meeting to have an investigator for us this week. As we were walking up to one of the members houses on the day she was assigned we heard her talking on the phone saying, "yeah just have her come listen to the missionaries" she was setting up the appointment for right then, right then. The investigator is a girl who was raised a member but her family went to a different church as soon as her mom got let go from her job at Liahona (LDS High School) So we taught her a great lesson and are way excited to teach her again!

Another cool/quick experience: As we were walking home one night we wanted to visit one of our investigator/less active homes. Got there and they were gone, so we just kept going home, when all of a sudden my slipper starts breaking like every step I take. So Satuala said, "let me buy you new slippers" I was being stubborn and said, "No its fine! These ones are still good" but he kept on insisting so I eventually said yes because the store was right next to us. As we were buying the slippers, Satuala see's the car of the family we were trying to go visit drive past towards their house! So we got excited, hurry and bought the slippers and followed their car. We got there and as we thought, one of the daughters was sick and needed a blessing. So we had the great opportunity of exercising some priesthood power as I felt the Spirit directing the blessing in their house. Happy night :)

Sunday was legit we did everything:

1) Blessed the Sacrament
2) Did a musical number(Satu sang and I played the Piano)(Mom you were right I shouldnt have stopped practicing)
3) I spoke for 15 minutes on the Sacrament
4) Taught the Gospel Principles class

It was a good day😇
Great Beach
 Close up
I felt like I was in the states
 This is in our area
No idea who these people are
 This blew my mind
Just can't get enough of these views

LOVE YAH GUYS!

WEEK 60 IN TONGA, FALAHA

Hey Mom and Dad, sorry but of course another week were time is not my friend. As you probably saw on Facebook, we had MLC all day which was awesome!! It was some awesome meetings that is going to help us and our zone out a lot. I love being able to go to those kinda meetings! So our meeting ended about an hour ago, so not too much time left to us to email and do our laundry, so I just wanted to check in with you 2 real fast!
Things were great this week!, We taught a golden investigator yesterday which we are so grateful to have been able to come into contact with. fingers crossed things will go well with her!
Pretty crazy about the first presidency huh?! We watched the broadcast at MLC and we were way surprised! But its really awesome to see a change and know that it is of God!

WEEK 59 IN TONGA, FALAHA

Kuo Mate ae Kuma ae Setane

WELL HELLO!

So my last couple of weeks were FULL of vilo hoas(exchanges) with other companionships in the Zone. First one was with Elder Tilini (came in with him) and he was deathly sick (thought he had Typhoid) so we spent that whole exchange at the hospital and in home (hes all goods now though)

On another one we had, I was walking to our house with a new missionary I was going on splits with and jokingly I ask him if he is allergic to Bees, cause there are TONS living right outside our wall (you can put your ear up to the wall and its so loud the wall is almost vibrating from all the buzzing) and earlier that day a bunch found there way inside our bedroom. Turns out hes deathly allergic to bees and would be outies within 10 minutes if he got stung. So that was a no go. We turned around and decided to stay in his area for the day.

Besides that, we are now toko4 (4 of us) living at our house. So now we have just 2 wards to cover and not 3 which will be a big help. Work is moving along slowly but surely! We have started a new program with our bishop that involves combining our visits to members with home teaching. We are happy to help them out in anyway! :)

We are still working with that girl that I mentioned who's mom was a Princess (royalty😱) and also the first member of the royal family. Pretty cool! She is reading the Book of Mormon and we sure hope and pray that we will be able to help her learn of its truths.

Besides that I can't really think about what else has gone down! Love this area! Me and Satuala get along way good and I love learning from him.

Random fact about our ward: the Second Councilor in the Bishopric is a Chinesse man named Sky who is the man and cant speak English but has some pretty dang good Tongan and was only baptized like 4 years ago.

OTHER NEWS OF THE WEEK:

After 3 weeks  of terrorizing us...and 2 hours of hunting...
 ...we have come victorious...
 ...over the child of Satan...
 ...oh yah...
 ...never again...
...and we found $20 bicks in the process...

LOVE YALL...BYYEE!!!
