BULAH!
I'm pretty sure that's how you say 'Hi' in Fijian, and the
only reason I put that was because we met a way cool guy from The Solomon
Islands which I know isn't even the same place but he looks kinda Fijian so..
you know!
Hello Fams and Friends! Sorry I missed the weekly last week!
We had MLC which basically took up all of PDAY :( but it was fine because I
loved the meeting and definitely got pumped up by President. Hes the man, and
gots to be one of the most spiritual men Ive ever met, and continue to learn
tons from him whenever we get to spend some time with him. He told us how our
next Zone Conf will go: basically the ZLs will all give a teaching and then the
rest of the time we will all role play. Pretty stoked for it!
Back to the Solomon Islands guy:
We were at a members house and I look out the window and
notice a road we hadn't gone down yet, I mouth to him that we should go and
walk down that road, he agreed so, we got up and left. Basically a whole lot of
'coincidences' happened for us to be on this road at the same time as this
Solomon Island man who was outside playing soccer with his kids. We played
kinda dumb and started a convo by asking if the gym was on this road (of course
we already knew that because we work out all the time😏)
Turns out hes the nicest man ever and is here to work as a doctor. Guy knows 5
languages and is Catholic but loves to hear what we share! We set an
appointment for the next morning before District Meeting, shared a short
message, gave a BOM and set a return appointment. It's really weird talking in
English with other people but at the same time such a relief.
We met another really cool investigator! One of the Bishops
we work with is SO hard core Missionary Work in his ward. Like he'll just pick
us up off the road as we are walking on his way home from work and we will go
visit people with him for the rest of the night. So he committed everyone
at our Ward Council Meeting to have an investigator for us this week. As we were
walking up to one of the members houses on the day she was assigned we heard
her talking on the phone saying, "yeah just have her come listen to the
missionaries" she was setting up the appointment for right then,
right then. The investigator is a girl who was raised a member but her
family went to a different church as soon as her mom got let go from her job at
Liahona (LDS High School) So we taught her a great lesson and are way excited to
teach her again!
Another cool/quick experience: As we were walking home one
night we wanted to visit one of our investigator/less active homes. Got there
and they were gone, so we just kept going home, when all of a sudden my slipper
starts breaking like every step I take. So Satuala said, "let me buy you
new slippers" I was being stubborn and said, "No its fine! These ones
are still good" but he kept on insisting so I eventually said yes because the
store was right next to us. As we were buying the slippers, Satuala see's the
car of the family we were trying to go visit drive past towards their house! So
we got excited, hurry and bought the slippers and followed their car. We
got there and as we thought, one of the daughters was sick and needed a
blessing. So we had the great opportunity of exercising some priesthood power
as I felt the Spirit directing the blessing in their house. Happy night :)
Sunday was legit we did everything:
1) Blessed the Sacrament
2) Did a musical number(Satu sang and I played the
Piano)(Mom you were right I shouldnt have stopped practicing)
3) I spoke for 15 minutes on the Sacrament
4) Taught the Gospel Principles class
It was a good day😇
