34rd WEEK IN TONGA TU'ANUKU

Oku Sai!

FAM! Sorry I wasn't able to get anything out last week!  Our whole districts net was out and today everyone's trying net to on one computer! So quick overview of how things are going in the area!
Last week we were able to get a ton of teachings which is a big change from how it's been the past while!  We even taught a man on a trampoline!  We got 3 baptismal dates set up and one of them is looking way solid!  Shes our bishops little sister who has never been taught by missionaries. Our bishop is one of the funniest guys I've met here. He's only 30 and kinda acts like he's 18 sometimes. We had a way good lesson with them that ended up going like 2 hours because bishops wife and bishop both shared how they gained their testimonies of the Book of Mormon.  Bishop told us about how he decided to serve a mission: his family wasn't members but was nice to the missionaries and would let them do their laundry at their house, and he liked the way that the missionaries dressed so he decided to send in his papers and get baptized and now he's the bishop here, funniest thing.
We are trying to work towards a lot of less actives here but they always seem to have the best excuses or just not be at their house whenever we set up a time.

We are working with this kid who was baptized by his dad, but the thing was his dad didn't tell the bishop or anyone that he was going to do the baptism, he just went to the ocean and baptized his son with like 5 primary kids there.  The bishop told him that that doesn't really count and there have to be witnesses there and the dad got offended and they went inactive for a while.  So this kid went his whole life with his dad telling him he was already baptized and so he wasn't very happy when we came and told him we have to reteach him and do all of that.

We were driving with one of our members and he pulls over all of a sudden and pulls out a hand gun and says he's gonna go shoot a dog real fast and just goes running out of the car lol.
Last week at church the 3rd hour got cancelled because 1. Neither of the speakers showed up (so guess who got to speak:) and 2. None of the teachers showed up (so guess who got to teach:). Bishop wasn't to happy so he just cancelled the 3rd hour.

So last p-day my comp rolled his ankle and so this whole week we've kinda been on house arrest a little. Just the past 3 days we've been able to go out.

For real though, even if it doesn't sound like it, this area has been having a ton of progress the past while and the members are noticing it and doing more to help with the work!  I know that the promise that there is always 5 people ready to be baptized in every area is true, it just takes everyone to do their part and then we start to see the miracles!

Maybe someday I'll be able to type up an email without 8 people waiting behind me:)

I love all of you so much and am thankful for all the examples and support I see from everyone. Heavenly Father knows I need it right now :)
