WEEK 47 IN TONGA, PANGAI MOTU

Man, sorry I missed last week homies! Pangaimotu has been great! :) We are still doing our part and trying our best to fulfill our purposes. We spend time everyday talking with an old man named Talikavili who first established the church here in Pangai way back in the day, was a legendary missionary in Tonga, then moved and spent some time in Utah and was a bishop there, but just moved back specifically to help this city. He tells us that he sees us working hard everyday but tells us that in this city, we aren't going to see improvements until the members and especially our bishop start to work with us and become more focused on their goal to build a new church house. Me and Faleao spend a lot of time talking about how we can make this happen and have set some goals for strengthening the members and encouraging our bishop and ward mission leader to set an example for the rest of the ward.

In our efforts to increase the number of people we teach, we found a young man who is way nice and seems somewhat interested in what we have to say. First teaching wasn't lava (able) but fingers crossed it will be this week :) :)

All those who watched conference know how amazing it was! I loved so many of the talks but just a little snip-it that I liked was from President Uchtdorf:
"No, life is not a selfdriving car. It is not an airplane on autopilot. You cannot just float in the waters of life and trust that the current will take you wherever you hope to be one day. Discipleship requires our willingness to swim upstream when needed. No one else is responsible for your personal journey. The Savior will help you and prepare the way before you, but the commitment to follow Him and keep His commandments must come from you. That is your sole burden, your sole privilege. This is your great adventure. Please heed the call of your Savior. Follow Him."
And way cool to see Elder Halleck represent the South Pacific!
